Nothing makes me happier to have a checkmark next to my employment status than a leisurely afternoon stroll through the Craigslist job postings. Nary has there been a platform that consistently pleads for more while offering next to nothing. Even the sorcerer’s apprentice got a magic broom.
What makes a great Craigslist job posting in a creative category? Misspellings, constant use of the phrase “I want”, and a total inflation of the concept known as “recognition”.
So behold…a masterpiece:

Sade1, my offer to shoot the behind the scenes documentary stands.
I played my own game of questionable craigslist ethics to see what competition for web design was like.
I used to think random gigs for small sites might be cool, so I’d fire off a letter to land the job.
Weeks later, after getting no tangible response from any of my emails (not that this is strange on c-list), I decided to post an ad looking for a “cheap, simple site.” I got 900 replies in under 24 hours.
Yep, good ol’ internet.
I think I live down the street from this guy. Got a degree from FSU in philosophy, likes to debate the existence of god, has big dreams and aspirations, yet works as a waiter at Chilis. Glad to see he’s is moving up in the world.
This is partially the reason I don’t do video work much anymore, it’s just too depressing and dire.
The CL gigs section is worthless. I used to have RSS feeds setup just for shits and giggles but it was too much.
